Russian doctors were shocked when they opened up a man to remove a tumour and found a fir tree instead.
It looked like the man had somehow got a seed into his lungs and it had started growing. The pine needles were piercing blood capillaries causing him to cough up blood and the tree looked like a tumour on the scans causing a diagnosis of cancer. I guess it must have been good news to find he didn’t have cancer, but still very strange to find out what the problem actually had been!
