Getting a good night’s sleep is essential for good health, and sharing a bed might not be the best way to get it. Sharing a bed became the norm in the Victorian era when more people lived in crowded areas, before then it was more common to sleep apart. A study found that couples sharing a bed suffered 50% more disturbances, and could cause rows and even effect health. While sleep is not generally seen as a major health issue, lack of sleep has been linked to depression, heart disease, strokes and lung disorders.
